Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards

Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards first opened in February of 1989 in Clermont, Florida. It is located on a 127-acre estate about 25 miles west of downtown Orlando. It was once held as the core of the State’s grape industry. After many years, the Lakeridge rose and became Florida’s largest premium winery.

It still remained as a pioneer for table and sparkling wines development from muscadine and hybrid grapes producing over 80,000 cases, or 960,000 bottles of wines. Some of which are the Vintage-dated such as the Suwannee, Stover and Blanc Du Bois. These wines are sold under the Lakeridge and Lakeridge Reserve brands wines at the wine section of major groceries, supermarkets and wine shops in Florida. These labels have actually won more than 700 awards for excellence in winemaking.

Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards offers complimentary tours and wine tasting from Monday through Saturday, from 10AM to 5PM and from 11AM to 5PM during Sundays. The tour usually runs every 15-20 minutes starting with a 12-minute video presentation, showing how Florida grapes are grown up to the wine making process as well as the bottling and labeling.

Once you’re done with the video presentation, your tour guide will show you where the production areas are and the stunning view of the vineyards where the grapes are planted and harvested.

A wine tasting is hosted at a large tasting counter where there is a wide selection of award winning wines. These wines range from dry to sweet with sparkling. The entire winery tour and wine tasting is up to approximately 45 minutes.

When the tour is over, you may want to drop by in their large retail area to buy some Lakeridge Wines, olive oils, salad dressings, gourmet mustards, salsas, assorted cheeses, crackers, and hot sauces. This retail area also has many other gift items and wine accessories such as cork pullers, foil cutters, bottle coolers, stemware racks, and picnic sets. You may also want to choose from a variety of cook books and reference guides to wines. Customized T-shirts and hats are also available. If you plan on giving a gift to someone, the winery’s staff can take a custom gift basket order from you.

The place has also a picnic area where you can enjoy eating your snacks with your family and friends.

They have some special events and festivities that are held annually, and some of these are the Arts and Crafts Festivals, Jazz Concerts, Harvest Festivals, and Grape Stomping.

You can find the Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards in U.S. Highway 27, 3 miles south of Florida’s Turnpike Exit 285 and 6 miles north of Clermont. Approximately 25 miles west of Orlando via Highway 50 and 30 miles north of Disney World via U.S. 27.
